SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Saturday reported an increase of 141 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus overnight, bringing the total number of cases to 9,278 with 537 COVID-19 deaths reported since March 8.
The New Jersey Department of Health on Saturday reported a total of 361,986 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 273 days ago, an increase of 5,324 overnight. There was an increase of 51 deaths, bringing the state total to 15,470. There have been 6,176.836 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.
Hillsborough has had a total of 912 COVID-19 cases since March, with a total of 81 COVID-19 related deaths.
The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 66,622,176 including 1,530,931 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Saturday morning, with 14,362,058 cases in the United States and 286,622 deaths.
The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 165 Franklin Township residents; 81 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 75 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 39 in North Plainfield; 33 in Green Brook; 16 in Watchung; 14 in Raritan; 16 in Bound Brook; 16 in Warren; 11 in Manville; 7 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 5 in Branchburg; 4 in Bedminster; 3 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.
No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
