BASKING RIDGE - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature in Somerset County during the winter months.
The Young Explorers Club meets Mondays, Jan. 4, 11, and 25 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and is designed for children age infant to 5 with parental supervision. Children will experience the wonders of nature through outdoor activities that stimulate the five senses.
Fee is $22 per pair and $11 per additional child for the 3-day session.
The Tree House Gang meets Tuesdays, Jan. 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 12:45-3:15 p.m. Children ages 3 to 5 will be entertained and educated during these afternoon science and nature classes. Program will include hikes, hands-on activities, and interacting with live animals. Fee is $65 per person for either 4-day session.

Forest Fitness meets Tuesdays, Jan. 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 9-10 a.m.
Adults are invited to join a weekly walking group, enjoying nature along the level trails of Lord Stirling Park. Fee is $20 for the 4-day session.
Nature Through A Child’s Eye meets daily, Saturday, Jan. 9 through Sunday, Feb. 7 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. except Monday, Jan 18.
The entire family will enjoy the annual environment and nature art show featuring works from children from kindergarten through grade six in Somerset County schools. Admission is free.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Native trees will be given away free by the Somerset County Park Commission at two locations to celebrate Arbor Day.
