SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerset County Business Partnership will host a networking breakfast and forum on "Medical Marijuana & Opioids: The Impact in New Jersey"on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 8:30-10 a.m. at the Steeplechase Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/Somerset, 30 Rehill Ave..
The forum at The Business Builders Breakfast will address the facts surrounding medical marijuana and opioids in the workplace and provide information on developing policies for businesses of all sizes.
Presenters will be Dr. Marc Milano of of RWJ University Hospital, and John Kutner, Esq., Partner at Weber Gallagher. The forum will be moderated by Tim Wolf of Somerset County Safe Communities.
Milano is chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at RWJ Somerset. Kutner focuses on employment law and workers’ compensation. He is well versed in state and federal marijuana laws and their impact on employers with regard to employer/employee rights, workers' compensation, and the affect they may have on insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
The mission of the Safe Communities coalition is to foster community collaboration, environmental change, and community education in Hunterdon and Somerset counties, by addressing areas of concern including reducing prescription drug abuse across the lifespan, underage drinking, tobacco, marijuana, and other drug use.
