CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - The Somerset Patriots (17-8) failed to finish off the weekend sweep of the Long Island Ducks (14-13) in an 8-2 loss Sunday afternoon at Bethpage Ballpark.

Somerset took a brief early lead in the first inning. Julio Borbon led off with a single, proceeded to steal a pair of bases and then scored on a Craig Massey RBI groundout.

The Ducks responded with a six-run second inning that chased starting pitcher Trevor Foss from the game. An Alec Sole two-run single, a run-scoring wild pitch and a two-out, three-run double from Lew Ford provided Long Island with a 6-1 lead.
