Full Closure of Route 518 at D&R Canal Bridge Starts July 6

FRANKLIN, NJ – The next phase of the bridge replacement over the D&R Canal on Route 518 will begin Wednesday, July 6.

Route 518 will be closed 24/7 to all traffic in both directions at this location starting at 7 a.m. on July 6 and is expected to remain closed until Aug. 5.

Detours will be posted; however motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible as delays are expected, especially during rush hours. Rocky Hill businesses will remain open and accessible from the Route 206 side of the closure.

This is a New Jersey Department of Transportation project.  The construction schedule and length of closure is weather-dependent and subject to change.  Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and allow for extra travel time.
