Funeral Rites Set for Hillsborough Building Official

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Edward "Eddie" Wasser, Assistant Building Sub-Code Official in the Building Department, passed away on Monday, June 12th.

Eddie began his career in the City of Bayonne as a Redevelopment assistant in June of 1978 and joined Hillsborough Township in June of 1989 as a Building Inspector. Through his teamwork, dedication and superior work ethic, Eddie ultimately became an Assistant Building Sub-Code Official in Hillsborough Township.

Eddie was most notably recognized for his Plan Review skills and his expertise in assisting the community with their applications.  In fact one resident wrote a letter of thanks stating how Eddie helped him for five hours to understand the process to submit a complete application, displaying excellence in Customer Service throughout his career.

On April 25th the Mayor and Hillsborough Township Committee, along with Eddie's numerous co-workers,  expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to Eddie Wasser for his dedication and support as well as superior work ethic during his nearly 28 years of service to Hillsborough Township and its residents.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17th at St. John Paul II Church, formerly known as Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 39 East 22nd St. Bayonne, NJ 07002.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Eddie's name to the American Cancer Society.
