HILLSBOROUGH, NJ – The popular Farm to Table Market at Duke Farms reopens for the 2017 season on Sunday, May 21 on the grounds of the Visitors Center off Duke Parkway West.
Dozens of vendors with fresh produce, farm products, herbs, dairy, beef, cheeses, wines and crafts will be selling their products from noon-5 p.m. on Sundays through Oct. 29.
“The market demonstrates land stewardship by practicing sustainable growing practices and providing communities with quality, nutritious food which promotes small family farming while protecting our valuable agricultural lands,” said Nora Wagner, director of Programs and Strategic Planning.
The Farm to Table Market began in 2014 by promoting incubator farmers that grow their crops at Duke Farms and a few products grown by local farms in the area.
Here is a list of farmers and other vendors supplied by Duke Farms:
Alstede Farms (www.alstedefarms.com) - Alstede Farms grows homegrown fruits, vegetables, and flowers on over 500 acres of beautiful Garden State farmland; most of which is permanently preserved through the state's Farmland Preservation Program. All of the fresh produce is grown using only sustainable and certified organic growing practices. Alstede Farms is a family owned.
Anna Lee Herbs (http://www.etsy.com/shop/annaleeherbs) - Anna Lee Herbs sells herbal teas, salves, hydrosols, flower essences, bath salts, and salt blends. Most of the herbs contained in their products are from their small farm in Mendham, NJ where they grow their herbs organically.
Better Butter - Better Butter produces compound butters to complement the produce of the season.
Bon Butters & Sweets (www.bonbutters.com) - Bon specializes in artisan nut butters and chocolate. The old school technique and passion behind their treats makes them delicious!
Cherry Gove Farm (www.cherrygrovefarm.com) - Cherry Grove Farm has been in the Hamill family since 1902. It is a diversified, sustainable dairy farm and creamery situated on 480 acres of woodland, wetland and pasture in Lawrenceville.
