FLEMINGTON, NJ --- New Jersey Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7th) announced his district offices are serving as drop-off locations for the Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes Program.
Interested residents should visit either of Lance’s New Jersey offices until Wednesday, Dec.14th with cards of holiday well wishes to be delivered to members of the Armed Services serving overseas.
“Receiving a note during the holiday season will brighten a service member’s day. It will only take a moment but mean a lot those who are away from friends and family during the holidays. Last year we received over 500 cards. I hope we have as great participation this year,” said Lance.
To ensure cards reach their destination, the following program guidelines apply:
Address cards to “service member” or “veteran.”
Write a note! Keep your message positive and upbeat.
Avoid cards containing glitter.
Do not enclose any items with your holiday cards. Any items enclosed will be removed.
Include your name and where you’re from, but do not include additional personal information such as email, phone number or address.
Do not put cards in envelopes. Individual cards in envelopes cannot be accepted.
