Manville Reformed Church Welcomes New Pastor

MANVILLE, NJ - The oldest church in the borough invites residents to meet its newly appointed pastor, the Rev. Annalee Davis.

A renowned published author, Davis joined Manville Reformed Church, located at 238 South Fifth Ave., on Feb. 1.

All are welcome to meet the Rev. Davis at Sunday morning worship services, which are held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Those who prefer a more informal gathering are invited to the “Coffee Hour,” which follows the service and includes a light breakfast.

Davis earned her bachelor’s degree in church ministries with a minor in music from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Ordained in 2001, she received her Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. 

Davis has been published in several devotional books, magazines and five book compilations, including “Chicken Soup for the Soul.”

Raised in Elizabeth, she has served in churches throughout her adult life, including positions as assistant pastor, co-pastor and pulpit supply pastor. Davis also taught as an adjunct teacher at Pillar College and the Urban Ministry Training Center. She served as a guidance writer for “Guideposts for Teens” magazine for several years. Her speaking experiences include Christian Business Women’s Clubs and the Peale Center for Christian Living.

Manville Reformed Church, which was founded in 1915 by Hungarian immigrants who worked at Johns-Manville, offers Christian education for youth and adults and family support meetings conducted by the City of Angels, Central New Jersey Chapter.

There are many opportunities at Manville Reformed Church for community outreach and fellowship, including participation in a food pantry, which is held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the fourth Saturday of every month.
