Narcotics Bust Leads to Seizure of Heroin, Taser and Cash

SOMERVILLE, NJ - A Manville resident faces several charges after a quantity of heroin, cash and a taser were seized from his home.

Charles Gordon, 56, of South Street, has been charged with possession of CDS (Heroin) with the intent to distribute, 3rd degree, possession of a weapon, 4th degree, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, 2nd degree, and Possession of drug paraphernalia a disorderly person offense, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Somerset County Prosecutor's detectives and Manville police executed a search warrant at Gordon's residence Sept. 27, and with the assistance of K9 Crusader from the Bound Brook Police Department, seized 221 bags of heroin, a black Thunder Power Taser, packaging material (empty baggies, a heroin stamper, two (2) scales, and rubber bands), and $5,066 in cash, according to Robertson.

The heroin seized has an estimated street value of $1,500, Robertson said.

Gordon was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
