SOMERVILLE, N.J. – A New York woman was arrested and charged with prostitution after a police sting at a Raritan massage parlor Wednesday night.
Arrested was Meiyue Piao, age 52, of Northern Boulevard, in Flushing, New York, according to Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson
Detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force, along with members of the Raritan Borough Police Department conducted a quality of life investigation at the Healing Hands Massage Parlor located at 114 Thompson St. Wednesday night, according to Robertson.
A member of the task force was propositioned by Piao at 10:28 p.m. after entering the massage parlor, according to Robertson. The defendant offered to perform a sex act on the detective in exchange for money; after the offer was made additional detectives entered the establishment and placed Piao under arrest, Robertson said.
She was transported to the Raritan Police Department and charged by the Raritan Borough Police with one count of Prostitution, a Disorderly Persons Offense.
Piao was released on her own recognizance and is to appear in Raritan Borough Municipal Court on July 11, 2016.
