SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Tuesday reported a total of 5,684 cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, an increase of 16 cases overnight, with the death toll at 516 since the first case was reported March 8.

Hillsborough has had a total of 567 COVID-19 cases since March, with a total of 77 COVID-19 related deaths.

The New Jersey Department of Health Tuesday reported a total of 222,193 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 232 days ago, and a total of 14,438 deaths during that time, an increase of 13 overnight. There have been 4,235,300 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 40,824,733, including 1,125,409 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Tuesday morning, with 8,468,223 cases in the United States and 225,451 deaths.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 158 Franklin Township residents; 77 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 76 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 37 in North Plainfield; 32 in Green Brook; 14 in Watchung; 15 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 16 in Warren; 6 in Manville; 7 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 6 in Branchburg; 4 in Bedminster; 3 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
