HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - The Hillsborough Music Festival returns to the Hillsborough Promenade, in the field next to Lowe's on Route 206 from noon-8 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 4th,

The festival, which began in 2010, is free to the public and co-sponsored by the Hillsborough Cultural Arts Commission.

A non-stop line-up of local talent - bands, vocalists and solo artists will perform, with food vendors and children's activities.

The festival raises funds for youth suicide prevention through outreach, education, and mental health awareness programs. The festival is family-friendly and dedicated to saving the lives of children.

Local talent, businesses, sponsors, and community members who want to add their time and resources are needed to support the event.

Adults and kids can gain experience and service hours through volunteering. There are ample opportunities to get involved, both before the festival and on the day of the event. Sign up using the online form; festival organizers will assign tasks matching individual's skills and schedule!

Somerset County Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Grace Gurisic, First Woman Freeholder

SOMERVILLE, NJ – Somerset County will fly its flags at half-staff July 12 in memory of Grace A. Gurisic, who served as the county’s first woman freeholder more than half a century ago.

Gurisic passed away June 9; she was 84. Funeral services will be held 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12, from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home in Wayne. A funeral mass will follow at St.
