Bridgeport took the lead with three runs in the sixth inning on an RBI double by Daniel Fields and a two-run single by Andrew Lambo that made the score 4-1.

“We played them well so far this half. Tonight, we really didn’t threaten much,” said Somerset Patriots manager Brett Jodie. “We had a few chances for some runs, but we just didn’t hit well with runners in scoring position. We have to get a little better in those situations.”

Rainy Lara (4-2) picked up the win, allowing a run on five hits and struck out seven in six innings pitched. David Kubiak (2-5) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on four hits and six strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. David Carpenter earned his 18th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning pitched.

The 2017 Somerset Patriots season will continue on the road until Tuesday, June 13th when the Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks. For tickets, visit
