BRIDGEWATER, NJ- The Somerset Patriots (3-0, 38-28) defeated the Road Warriors (0-3, 17-49) 2-1 in 14 innings at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday evening.

With two-outs in the bottom of the 14th inning, Mike Fransoso hit a walk off infield single to second base to win the game for the Patriots.

“I was just trying to end the game any way I could,” said Fransoso. “He surprised me there with three fastballs that I didn’t see coming so I got myself in an 0-2 hole. I just tried to put the ball in play and get on base and luckily he missed it there.”
