Police Apprehend Two Armed Robbery Suspects

SOMERVILLE, NJ - Two Warren County men have been arrested and charged with the March 26 armed robbery of a convenience store in Warren Township, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Frank E. Kline, age 52, of Belvidere Ave, and David B. Domanski, age 53, of Washington Arms, both located in Washington Township in Warren County, New Jersey were arrested April 13. Both are charged with one count of first degree armed robbery, and one count of second degree unlawful possession of a firearm. Both defendants are lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Warren Township police received a phone call from a clerk at the Krauszer's convenience store on Stirling Road March 26 at 8:39 reporting a robbery. The employee told police a man, described as 50 years old, wearing dark clothing, a white basekball cap and light-colored tactical boots entered the store with  a gun and demanded money from the cash register. The victim complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from the register.

The robbery was captured on the store's video surveillance camera; still images were circulated to the media and other law enforcement agencies. 

Warren police subsequently received a call from Washington Township Police in Warren County telling them that Kline fit the description of the suspect they were looking for and that he was also a suspect in a similar incident in their town. 

On April 13 detectives from Warren Township, Long Hill Township (Morris County) and Washington Township conducted a surveillance on Kline in the Washington Township area, and confirmed that he matched the physical description displayed in the still photos obtained from video footage.. Additionally, he was also wearing clothing that he wore during the armed robbery, according to Robertson.

Warren Township detectives obtained a Superior Court Search Warrant to for the suspect and residence; at 5:30 p.m., police detectives from Washington Township, Phillipsburg and Long Hill detained Kline in Phillipsburg. He was transported to the Washington Township Police Department for further investigation.

Detectives from several police agencies searched Kline's residence on Belvidere Avenue after he was detained.

During the investigation it was determined that Domanski was also involved in the armed robbery. At  8:30 p.m. Warren Township detectives went to Domanski’s residence to speak with him.  He voluntarily accompanied police to their Washington Township headquarters.

At 9:35 p.m. the two suspects were arrested and charged.
