RVCC To Hold Cosmetology Information Session

BRIDGEWATER - Raritan Valley Community College will offer a new evening Cosmetology program in 2016.

An information session will be held Jan. 7, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the RVCC @ Bridgewater center, 14 Vogt Drive, Building B, Room 209-211.

Evening program classes begin Jan. 25. Classes will be offered Monday-Thursday, from 3:30-9:30 p.m., at the Bridgewater location.

During the information session, prospective students will be able to view live hair demonstrations, meet the program director, participate in a question-and-answer segment, and apply for the program.

RVCC’s Cosmetology program features an accomplished teaching staff, innovative teaching methods, and opportunities for job shadowing and salon practicum. The program offers pro-active job placement for graduates and other components critical to student success.

Employment of hairdressers, hairstylists, and cosmetologists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2012-2022, according to information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Financial Aid and industry scholarships are available to students who qualify.

Students accepted into the program must attend a New Student Orientation, Jan, 19, from 4-7 p.m., at RVCC @ Bridgewater.
