"See You in September" Comes a Few Months Early

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission summer of Sunday evening live concert performances opens at the Duke Island Park band shell on Old York Road in Bridgewater on Sunday evening, July 8 with a performance by Bob Miranda & The Happenings.

The Happenings, a major recording act from the mid-60s, will peform from 7-8:30 p.m..

The group hit the charts in May of 1966 with their first single release, "See You In September." The song quickly spiraled up the charts to become an international #1 record throughout the entire summer. The Happenings continued their hits with "Go Away Little Girl," "Bye, Bye, So Long, Farewell," and "I Got Rhythm."

The Summer Free Concert series will continue on Sunday, July 15 at 7 p.m. with Country star Billy Gilman.
