SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Thursday reported a total of 5,239 cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, an increase of 23 cases overnight, along with 498 deaths since the first case was reported March 8.

Hillsborough has had a total of 525 COVID-19 cases since March, with 76 deaths.

The New Jersey Department of Health Thursday reported a total of 201,552 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 206 days ago, and a total of 14,300 deaths during that time, an increase of 9 overnight. There have been 3,457,804 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 32,249,030 with 984,219 having died as a result of exposure to the coronavirus, according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Thursday morning.

The CDC this morning reported 206,975 COVID-19 deaths in the United States, with a total of 7,153,536 cases.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 146 Franklin Township residents; 76 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 69 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 36 in North Plainfield; 33 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 16 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 14 in Warren; 7 in Manville; 7 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 6 in Branchburg; 4 in Bedminster; 4 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
