Somerset County Offers 10-Week Yoga Courses

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Recreation Department will host a 10-week winter session of Classic Hatha Yoga with classes for both beginners and practiced beginning Jan. 11.

The low-impact program will introduce adults to the healthful benefits of Yoga and improve on existing skills for those who previously participated.

The evening program will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. at Park Commission Headquarters at North Branch Park, 355 Milltown Road. The Beginner Session will run from 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the Advanced Session running from 7-8:30 p.m. Fee for the beginner session is $80 and fee for the experienced session is $100.

Hatha Yoga is a slow-paced stretching exercise combined with simple breathing exercises and seated meditation. It is a good opportunity to learn basic poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga.

Participants are requested to wear comfortable clothing and bring a Yoga mat. Mats will be available for purchase at the first session for $25.
