- Arts in the Community: Nominees for this category should be dedicated individuals, corporations or local organizations that support the fine or performing arts through innovative programming, outstanding vision and leadership, a dedication to arts access and outreach, exemplary partnerships, volunteerism or philanthropy.

- Aspiring Young Artist: Nominate a Somerset County high school or college student who demonstrates excellence in the fine or performing arts, aspires to a career in the arts and is a role model of good citizenship. One young artist will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Friends of Somerset County Cultural & Heritage.

Award recipients will be honored at an April 19 ceremony at the Green Brook Middle School Auditorium.

Excellence in the Arts is sponsored by the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission and Friends of Somerset County Cultural & Heritage, Inc.
