SOMERVILLE, NJ _ Somerset County’s Commission on the Status of Women is scheduled to present a self-care webinar for women, via a Zoom videoconferencing meeting, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9. The theme is how to “Renew, Recharge, and Reset" during these trying times as the world continues to confront the COVID-19 virus spread.

The commission’s goal in the meeting will be to foster a message of wellness and revitalization, focused on the following topics:

_ Renew (mental and emotional health) – Dealing with COVID-19, the quarantine, an uprising, and constantly being inundated with violent images can have a huge impact on your mental health. Maxine Bradshaw, Ph.D., MBA; MEd., who is recognized among the top 100 leaders in education in mental health, will walk the audience through ways they can renew their minds.

_ Recharge (fitness and nutrition) – Gyms are closed, almost everyone’s normal routine has been altered, and they’re stuck at home with all the temptation of food and snacks _ no wonder the “quarantine fifteen” has become a thing. As part of the webinar, Jill Lipari, doctor of physical therapy, with the Physical Therapy Center of Excellence, will highlight ways to recharge, get fit and eat healthy at home.

_ Reset (life and career) – A lot of people may be asking themselves, “What now? Where do I go from here? How do I move forward?” Many have lost loved ones, jobs, opportunities, and sometimes hope. Shelly L. Bell, M.A., FDC, Life Coach and Vice Chair of the Commission, will be providing tools to help people navigate and prepare for the future.
