MANVILLE, NJ - A suspected drug dealer was busted by police riding his bicycle.
Arthur N. Green, 60, of N Weiss Street was arrested July 26 after a three-week investigation into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine by the suspect, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force, along with members of the Manville Police Department had set up surveillance outside Green's residence, and stopped the suspect after he had left his home riding a bicycle, according to Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Manville Borough Chief of Police Mark A. Peltack.
Green was stopped and searched, and found to be in possession of 35 bags of heroin, one bag of crack cocaine, one bag of marijuana, and five assorted prescription pills and narcotic paraphernalia, according to Robertson.
The estimated street value of the narcotics seized by Task Force members was approximately $400. Task Force Members then executed a search warrant on Green’s residence seizing additional evidence including drug paraphernalia.
Green is charged with 3rd degree Distribution of Heroin, 3rd degree Possession of CDS (Heroin), 3rd degree Possession of CDS (Crack Cocaine), Disorderly Person offense of Possession of CDS (Marijuana), and Disorderly Persons offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
