SOMERVILLE, NJ –The U.S. Department of State will increase passport processing fees from $25 to $35, effective April 2.

The $10 increase will only apply to application form DS-11, which is used by first-time applicants over age 16, children under age 16, and applicants who re-apply after reporting their previous passport lost or stolen.

There are two fees associated with passport applications. The first is the State Department’s application fee and the second is a processing fee, which is intended to cover costs incurred by designated passport acceptance agencies, including U.S. Post Offices, County Clerk’s Offices and public libraries.  For more information, visit the State Department’s website at:https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.htm
