BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Zoned Sports Academy, in Bridgewater, has announced its annual scholarship, intending to give no less than $1,500 to each athlete chosen.

The annual Zoned Scholarship Fund is a yearly $10,000 fund that provides scholarship awards to assist deserving baseball and softball player applicants who are attending institutions of higher learning. Each award, according to the website will be designated for one school year, and it is the intent of the academy to award six scholarships this year.

Requirements include having been a participant in Zoned programs for one year prior to eligibility; be actively involved in community service and with high school baseball or softball programs; show leadership on the team and in the community; complete an essay about what participation in the sport has taught you; have two adult references; and complete the application.

The 2015 winners were Ally Hernandez, of Hunterdon Central Regional High School; Justin Friedman, of The Pingry School; Carly Severini, of North Hunterdon High School; Kelly Amen, Joe DiNizio, of Middlesex High School; Arielle Couso, of Hillsborough High School; and Scott Cooper, of Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
