Teen Tycoons: An Entrepreneurial Competition

In celebration of Small Business week, SCLSNJ is hosting a competition for aspiring teen entrepreneurs based on the popular entrepreneurial television show called Shark Tank. The contest is open to all students in grades 7-12 eligible for an SCLSNJ library card. The judges are looking for original business concepts and/or new variations on an existing business concept. The business can be a brand new business or an already existing business. Groups up to a maximum of 3 people are allowed to enter the competition but only one member of the group will present. The participants will not be allowed extensions, PowerPoint slides or props of any kind. The 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners will receive prizes. Space is limited. Applications to participate will be accepted beginning March 1, 2017. For more information email Cathy DeBerry, cdeberry@sclibnj.org. Please register early as space is limited.

Convoy Delivers Wreaths of Honor to Somerset County

SOMERVILLE, NJ  - The Wreaths Across America convoy that stopped off in Manville Dec. 13 for ceremonies on its way from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery delivered two memorial wreaths to Somerset County officials.

On Friday, ceremonies were held at Veterans Memorial Plaza adjacent to the Somerset County Administration Building, and in Raritan, adjacent to the John Basilone Memorial.
