Patricia Zelko, 83, of Branchburg, died peacefully on April 24, 2022.

Born and raised in Irvington to the late Pasquale and Helen Carasia (nee Burkhardt), she was a graduate of Irvington High School.

Patricia then married Salvatore Simonelli. They settled in Union and had two children before his sudden death in 1963. She worked hard to support her family and went on to meet and marry Elmer Zelko in 1966 who became a devoted husband and loving father to her children.

They lived and raised their family in Union before moving to Branchburg 28 years ago. Together they enjoyed entertaining family and friends, trips to Lake George and the Jersey Shore, gardening and visits to Atlantic City. Most of all, they were devoted grandparents who played an active role in their grandchildren’s lives. Attending every sporting and school event, they cherished the quality time spent together over the years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years Elmer Zelko in 2019, and her dear son, Greg Zelko in 2001.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Karen Sena and husband Robert, her adored grandchildren Anthony, Robert, Dante, Jeremy, and Zachary, her half sister and brother Lenore and Steven Carasia, as well as her extended family.
