BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The New Jersey Economic Development Authority, in partnership with the Office of the Governor of New Jersey, is working to develop programs and resources to support New Jersey’s business community during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Somerset County Business Partnership is asking Somerset County businesses to participate:
1. SMALL-TO-MEDIUM ENTERPRISE (SME) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SURVEY
Information from small-to-medium enterprise owners and leaders is sought to inform the development of new programs and initiatives to support organizations during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The survey can be accessed at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CVSupport.
The SCBP is trying to generate responses quickly as they will use this information to guide the development of short-term support that will be launched imminently, according to Melissa DeFreest, director of Marketing & Communications.
"If possible, please complete this survey by Saturday night. They will be reviewing results on Sunday to help refine economic stabilization programs next week," DeFreest said.
2. COVID-19 JOBS & HIRING PORTAL
The State is building a centralized resource to match talent with opportunities in industries on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The first crucial step is to gather details on employers’ immediate hiring needs. The state has built an intake tool for employers to share this information which can be directly accessed here: https://jobs.covid19.nj.gov/intake.
The roll-out of this new tool will begin with critical industries like grocery stores, shipping and logistics, healthcare, janitorial services, and warehousing, but over time will expand to work with all industries that need to tap extra deep into New Jersey’s best-in-class talent pool during this extraordinary time.
The aim will be to post employment opportunities as early as this weekend.
