HILLSBOROUGH, NJ – The Hillsborough Education Foundation is providing $10,000 to support local public school education through several initiatives for the 2019-2020 school year.
1. Grant program – HEF invites Hillsborough Township Public School teachers, administrators and staff to submit grant applications to fund high impact education programs. The online grant application will become available on Monday, Dec. 2nd. Applications will be accepted through 11:59 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 15th, 2020 at www.hef.org.
2. Milestones awards – HEF partners with Hillsborough High School to recognize outstanding HHS juniors in a variety of departments, including Applied Technology, English, Family & Consumer Sciences, Guidance, Health, Information & Communication Technology, Math, Music, Sciences, Social Studies, Special Education, Visual Arts and World Languages.
3. Senior scholarships – HEF will continue its tradition of providing scholarship funding for graduating Hillsborough High School students on Senior Awards night.
To commemorate these initiatives, Hillsborough High School Advanced Graphic Arts students are partnering with the foundation to design a new logo that captures the mission and spirit of HEF. Students will use both creativity and technical expertise during this experience, which is also designed to provide valuable ‘real world’ graphic design and customer care practices.
Further, to broaden its impact, HEF is seeking community members who are committed to supporting public school education to join the HEF advisory committee. Applications are available online at www.hef.org.
HEF also asks for the community’s generosity in supporting public education on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3rd. Donations can be made online at www.hef.org or by checks made out to “Hillsborough Education Foundation”and mailed to P.O. Box 5642, Hillsborough NJ 08844. HEF is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

HEF’s mission is to strengthen the bridge between the community and Hillsborough Township Public Schools by encouraging community involvement and financial support to enhance public education for students at all levels. HEF was established in 1996 and has a long history of funding innovative programs and classroom initiatives, including the initial funding for the Hillsborough High School robotics team and fundraising for the Hillsborough High School turf field in 2000. One of HEF’s longest running programs has been granting scholarships to graduating Hillsborough High School seniors.
