HILLSBOROUGH, NJ – The Board of Education continues to accept applications from residents interested in filling a vacant seat on the township school board.
The term expires on Jan. 7, 2018. The seat was vacated by former board member Steven Cohen, who resigned at the board’s June 19 meeting.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- must be a citizen of the United States;
- must be a resident of Hillsborough Township and must have been such for at least one year;
-must be able to read and write;
- must be registered to vote in Hillsborough Township;
- cannot concurrently hold office as a member of the governing body of Hillsborough Township.
Those interested in being considered for the vacancy must submit a letter of application outlining interest and qualifications for serving on the Board of Education.
Applications must be received in the Board of Education office by 3 p.m. on July 13. Submit the application to: Hillsborough Township Board of Education ℅ Mr. Aiman Mahmoud, Board Secretary 379 South Branch Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.
The board has scheduled a public meeting on Monday, July 17 at the Auten Road Intermediate School Cafeteria, 281 Auten Road, to interview all qualified candidates.
