PRINCETON, NJ - The Humane Society Legislative Fund has endorsed Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker (D-Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset) for reelection in the 16th legislative district.

“I am proud to have received the endorsement of the Humane Society Legislative Fund for my candidacy this year,” said  Zwicker. “Ethical and humane treatment of animals is a deeply held personal belief.   I am proud to be one of the prime sponsors of NJ’s “Nosey’s Law” prohibiting the use of elephants and other wild or exotic animals in traveling animal acts that was recently signed into law.

"Moving forward, I will continue to work on behalf of animals and humans with the words of philosopher Jeremy Bentham:  “The question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but "Can they suffer?”

Zwicker is seeking his third two-year term in the Assembly; his running mate is Assemblyman Roy Freiman, seeking his second term.
