HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - A 22-year-old township resident was arrested at his home on Gemini Drive July 15th  and charged with possession of child pornography, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

The suspect, Jonathan Martinez, is being held at the Somerset County Jail in Somerville following his arrest.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit and the Hillsborough Township Police Department Patrol Division went to Martinez' house and arrestedhim at 2:30 p.m. based on information that had been referred to them by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, after they received information that defendant Martinez had purchased child pornography from an individual initially identified during a Hunterdon County investigation.

As a result of a Superior Court-issued search warrant that was executed at Martinez’ Gemini Drive home, approximately 600 files of child pornography were located on Martinez’ electronic devices. .

Prosecutor Robertson stated that the investigation was transferred to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, after they received information that defendant Martinez had purchased child pornography from an individual initially identified during a Hunterdon County investigation. As a result of a Superior Court-issued search warrant that was executed at defendant Martinez’ Gemini Drive home, approximately 600 files of child pornography were located on defendant Martinez’ electronic devices.
