FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Police are investigating two separate shootings, with one victim wounded and the exterior of a home damaged by gunshots, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Police are continuing to investigate both incidents; the first involving the residence occured July 14th, the second, involving the shooting occured July 17th.
Robertson provided the following accounts of both incidents:
Police received a 911 call at 6:42 p.m. reporting damage to the exterior of a King Road home from fireworks. Police determined that the damage had been caused by gunshots
Detectives from Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene, along with detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department to conduct an investigation.
In the second incident, a 911 call led police to a township resident who was wounded in a shooting on Barker Road; the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives from Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Investigations Units responded to the scene, along with detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department to conduct an investigation.
