OLD BRIDGE, NJ - The Shop Rite of Old Bridge store in the Fairway Plaza on Route 9 reported a confirmed case of COVID-19 Saturday.
ShopRite stores in Newark, Morristown and Garwood had reported confirmed cases of COVID-19 last week.
The Old Bridge store implemented immediate changes, including a 70 percent reduction in the number of customers allowed in the store at one time and elimination of counter service in the seafood and deli departments. Other ShopRite stores in Bernardsville and Stirling implemented similar plans Sunday.
A notice was posted on the Old Bridge store's Facebook page Saturday:
"We think it’s important to share this information with our customers. You should know that ShopRite is prepared and we have implemented deep cleaning procedures that follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommended protocols, as well as our own enhanced environmental cleaning and disinfecting guidelines.
"Please be aware that the store will open at 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 29. Additionally, we have taken the following steps:
- The associate will not return to work until cleared by a healthcare professional to do so;
