SOMERVILLE, NJ - Winter will be a little warmer for the children of Food Bank Network clients, thanks to the almost 100 donated coats, and dozens of hats, gloves and scarves, collected by the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women as part of its tenth annual Project Warm Your Heart.

“Most of us put our winter coat on and take it for granted, but there are many children who don’t have that luxury. Thankfully, we are able to provide children with these coats and winter apparel as the cold weather is approaching,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Pat Walsh, commission liaison.

"I want to thank the Somerset County residents who have donated these coats and hats,” she said. “You are providing warmth and making over 100 children happy. We couldn't have done it without your generosity."

The commission serves as an advisory board to the Board of Chosen Freeholders to address present and potential needs of women and to develop a greater public awareness of women’s issues. For more information, email sccswomen@gmail.com or visit the commission’s webpage at www.co.somerset.nj.us/women
