HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - A steady stream of pick-up trucks, SUVs and cars towing trailers arrived at the Auten Road Debris facility yesterday to unload branches, limbs and cut-up tree trunks as the clean-up from Tropical Storm Isaias continues three days after the storm swept across New Jersey, uprooting trees and knocking down power lines.
More than 100 loads arrived, with some residents returning more than once to get rid of tree debris from their residences.
The facility, across from the Auten Road School alongside the railroad tracks, will be open again on Friday, Aug. 7 and Saturday, Aug. 8, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Residents must show ID at the gate, and observe all COVID-19 protocols. Masks and gloves must be worn and social distancing observed.
Water Filling Station is Available at the Municipal Building
Residents without water are able to fill their own water containers at the Municipal Complex, 379 South Branch Road, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. You must sign in, wear masks while in the building, adhere to physical distancing requirements, and bring your own water container.

Cooling and Charging Stations Available at the Municipal Building
Cooling and charging stations are available at the Municipal Complex, 379 South Branch Road, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, for Hillsborough residents who have lost power. You must sign in, wear masks while in the building, and adhere to physical distancing requirements.
Reporting Power Outages and Status on Power Restoration
As of 9:30 am Thursday, the following updates were provided by local utility companies:
PSE&G reportied 455 Hillsborough customers without power; estimated restoration on or before Aug, 10.
JCP&L reportied 1047 Hillsborough customers without power; no estimate on restoration of service.

Storm related road closures will be communicated via the Township Emergency Alerting System (Swift911™). To sign up to receive such alerts go to the Township website and be sure to subscribe to the Police Alerts. Do not use social media to report issues as they are not monitored or updated.
As of 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, the following roads are closed due to the storm:
Blackpoint Road at Amwell
Westbound Camplain Road
River Road and Roycefield Road
Millstone River Road from Strawberry to Amsterdam
E Mountain Road between Amwell and Mountainview
South Triangle Road remains closed for utility work from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for several weeks
