HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting for the Hillsborough High School hockey team to score its first goal at their Dec. 14th game against the Bergen Catholic Crusaders at the Flemington Ice Arena, because when they do - the fur will fly.

The Raiders will host their first-ever Teddy Bear Toss, a hallowed hockey ritual during the holiday season, adding to a long list of amateur, school, semi-pro and professional hockey teams across the United States and Canada that invite fans to bring teddy bears to their games for the chance to fling the stuffed animals on to the ice after the home team scores its first goal.

The Raiders are asking fans to bring a new or gently-used stuffed animal to the game. Once the bears and other critters hit the ice, they will be gathered by the players and donated to the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots drive.
