HILLSIDE, NJ-The Honorable Mayor Dahlia O. Vertreese, Mayor of Hillside, in conjunction with Celia Fernandez proprietor of Prestige Auto-Wash, Health Department and other community members hosted their second annual pink Shuffle Fundraiser. This walk helped to bring awareness to the Hillside community and surrounding areas, in addition to raising funds for the American Cancer society.
Celia Fernandez, a breast cancer survivor, has been an owner-operator of Prestige Auto-Wash along with her brother Frank, sister-in-law Marilyn and husband Lou. Prestige has four car wash locations; two in Hillside, on 1521 North Broad Street and 1357 Liberty Avenue with a Mobil 1 Quick-Lube Center. The other two are located on 323 Rahway Avenue, Elizabeth and 515 Lehigh Avenue, Union.
"Be Sharing don't be afraid to share your story, it's important share. Celia Fernandez
Supporting breast cancer awareness has been her main objective since being diagnosed back in 2007. With the support from family, friends, and the American Cancer Society, she made it through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. This October 2019, will be her 12th year as a survivor and 11th year raising money for the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer.
I think that we were always concerned with raising all of this money that it would go to a good cause, but we were honored that part of the money from the American Cancer society goes to Hope Lodge, which provides supports to other patients and their families who are going through breast cancer..." Mr. Fernandez
