Hillside Public Schools receives a $5,000.00 grant from Investors Foundation to support the District's mission of "Building Bridges to Family School and Community Partnerships." The grant will be used to help aid with funding needed materials for the MakerSpace at Calvin Coolidge School. The MakerSpace provides opportunities for students to have fun as they learn STEAM concepts with Sphero and Cues which will instill a love of science, technology and wonderment.
Dr. Sheard, Acting Superintendent of Schools, along with Ms. Marta Tran, Hillside Enrichment Teacher at Calvin Coolidge School, believe the ultimate goal for the STEAM program is to have our students go on to select career and educational paths where they will make a positive impact on their community and society.
With the support of Investors Foundation, the Hillside Board of Education's vision to provide opportunities to plant a seed in the minds of our young scholars which will set them on a course for greatness in the areas of science, technology, arts, engineering and math, is one step closer to becoming a reality.
