Hillside, NJ  – ShopRite of Hillside’s new Registered Dietitian Robin Bach knows it can be a challenge for parents to keep their kids from dipping into the candy jar around Halloween. That’s why she devised three tips to ensure this Halloween is a healthy one.

Bach’s tips for a healthy Halloween include:

  • Have a good meal, like soup and sandwiches, before going out trick or treating to avoid snacking along the way.
  • Walk instead of drive to different neighborhoods to work in some physical activity.
  • After trick or treating, separate candy at home and divide it up so everyone can enjoy it in moderation for weeks to come.

Bach, who recently joined the supermarket’s health and wellness team, also offers an array of ongoing free nutrition services. She provides store tours and cooking demonstrations along with complimentary one-on-one counseling services for customers and associates. She can help customers navigate the aisles to help them better understand food labels.
