ELIZABETH, NJ - An active-duty firefighter and resident of the City of Elizabeth died at the age of 44 on November 26. 

Anthony “Tony” Fanelli, Jr. began his career as a firefighter in Elizabeth in 2008 and served in the department for 14 years. He was also a member of Elizabeth Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA) Local 9.
