Daphne McKenzie, the eldest daughter of thirteen children, migrated to the United States in 1947 from Jamaica West Indies at the age of 18. Daphne worked as a secretary for many years and later returned to school where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She wanted to further her education in nursing, she then returned to Adelphi University where she became a Registered Nurse and attained her BSN in nursing. Daphne worked for many years in different areas of nursing specializing in psychiatry. Daphne was always an eager learner and believed that education was the key to success. She returned to school and obtained a master’s degree in nursing. She worked for many years in management until she retired in 1994. She was an avid Seven-Day Adventist who was very involved in the church and community.

Fox Trail Hillsdale East is very happy Daphne chose our community as her new home.
