HOBOKEN, NJ - Lou Taglieri, the Hoboken High School Football Coach who led the RedWings to multiple titles during his 12-year run, has passed away. He was 59.

"It is with regret and sadness to inform the passing of Coach Louis Taglieri. A true Hoboken legend who spent his life impacting his students and his players," reported the Hoboken RedWings via social media Wednesday morning. "We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife and our colleague and friend, Gabby and to his children, siblings and extended family."

Taglieri grew up in Hoboken and played quarterback during his own time at Hoboken High School. After playing for St. Peter's College, he returned to serve as an assistant under Ed Stinson, later taking over the program himself and winning a number of state and sectional championships.
