JERSEY CITY, NJ — After getting shut out in the first quarter, the Hoboken High School football team broke things open in the middle two quarters and went on to a 48-6 victory over Lincoln Friday night at Caven Point.
Anthony Henriquez and Jason Jeannot each scored two touchdowns for Hoboken (2-1), which led, 14-0, at the half, and 26-0 after three quarters.
Jason Blanks got Hoboken on the board in the second quarter with a 2-yard TD run. Henriquez then scored on a 20-yard run and a two-point conversion pass from Blanks for a 14-0 lead.
In the third quarter, Henriquez gave Hoboken a 20-0 lead with a 42-yard scoring run. Lincoln's Emerson Deline returned the ensuing kickoff 67 yards for a TD that cut the Hoboken lead to 20-6.
Jeannot's 21-yard TD run made it 26-6 Hoboken. The Redwings built a 34-6 lead on Kyrin Rhone's 36-yard TD run and Jeannot's two-point conversion. Jeannot had a 15-yard TD run, and Avante Vargas scored the final Redwing touchdown when he scooped up a Lincoln fumble and brought it 76 yards back to the house.
Jeannot finished with 111 yards on 16 carries, and Henriquez gained 71 yards on 11 carries.
Jason Blanks and Alfredo Gonzalez each intercepted a pass for Hoboken, and Angel Sanabria, Alfredo Gonzalez and Joel Gonzalez each made a sack.
