HOBOKEN, NJ - As Benjamin Abreu, 49, Hoboken, was allegedly stealing packages, Gregory Freitas, 29, Jersey City was supposed to be on lookout. It appears someone slipped up, as both men were arrested Sunday afternoon by Hoboken Police.

Just after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Detective Sergeant Josue Velez and Detective Luis Rodriguez were driving eastbound on 9th and Jefferson Street in an unmarked police vehicle and observed the two men standing by a package in front of a residential doorway. The detectives then observed one male pick up the package, and they walked away together heading westbound. The detectives circled the block, meanwhile Officer Liana Palladino notified dispatch that she may have located the alleged actors in the area of the 9th Street Light Rail.

Through an on-scene investigation, it was determined that the package was in fact stolen and both Abreu and Freitas were placed under arrest, charged with Theft and Conspiracy and these charges were placed on warrants.
