HOBOKEN, NJ - Yet another historic Hoboken pharmacy has been the target of an early morning smash-and-grab robbery—the second in three days.
On Sunday, January 17, Willow Pharmacy (900 Willow Avenue) was burglarized shortly after 4:30 a.m.
According to Hoboken Police Lt. Danilo Cabrera, "Two unknown actors entered the pharmacy by breaking the glass to the front door with a brick. They went directly to the back pharmacy section and stole prescription cough syrup. After grabbing the cough syrup, they exited the pharmacy and left in a motor vehicle."
Cabrera noted the similarity to the other recent break-in, stating, "This incident is similar to Albini's Pharmacy. Both cases are under investigation."
Albini's had their windows smashed on Friday, January 15—also around 4:30 a.m. An unspecified amount of items were taken in that case. Albini's has been in business on 4th & Adams since 1880. Willow Pharmacy has been serving Hoboken since 1921.
