HOBOKEN - The Open Streets initiative is once again bringing people to the streets of Hoboken this weekend, as the City slates 17 blocks for pedestrian and bicycle use.
"I’m glad to share that we are once again creating open streets this upcoming weekend to help residents with extra room for social distancing while enjoying the outdoors," said Mayor Ravi Bhalla.
This Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the City of Hoboken will open:
- Jackson Street between 2nd Street & 7th Streets
- 7th Street between Grand Street & Jackson Streets
- Jefferson Street between 6th & 8th Streets
- Adams Street between 6th & 9th Streets
- Grand Street between 7th & 9th Streets
This weekend’s configuration of Open Streets will help connect the park at 7th & Jackson to Columbus Park.
Traffic Control Officers (TCOs) will be on hand to help assist residents who need access to garages and vehicles. Block parties, congregation, and lawn chairs on the open streets are prohibited.
