HOBOKEN - The Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA) is taking it to the streets once again, inviting residents and visitors to safely shop, dine, and enjoy the Mile Square through the Summer Streets program.
The outdoor initiative will take place uptown on 14th Street and downtown by Hoboken Terminal today, Thursday, July 30, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., providing Hoboken businesses the opportunity to further expand their space outdoors in designated areas and allow for more physical distancing.
Working with the Hoboken Police Department and Department of Transportation, Summer Streets will take place on Thursday evenings and Sundays through October. In various locations citywide, every Summer Streets event will have tables set up in the streets for use by hospitality venues and retail locations. Of course attendees are instructed to adhere to social distancing and mask guidelines. Reservations are recommended at any of the local establishments or restaurants, to avoid overcrowding.
This weekend, designated pedestrian-only areas include:
- Downtown by Hoboken Terminal: Thursday, July 30 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 2 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Newark Street from Washington Street to River Street, Hudson Place from Hudson Street to the PATH, and both River Street and Hudson Street from Hudson Place to Newark Street will be open to pedestrians only.
- Uptown 14th Street: Thursday, July 30, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., 14th Street will be open to pedestrians only from Bloomfield Street to Hudson Street.
