HOBOKEN, NJ—Last Friday night, Chef Anthony Pino of Anthony David's delivered steak dinners to the families of two-dozen Hoboken American Legion Post 107 veterans.

"It was a big hit," said Post 107 Commander John Carey. "Included with the great meal was a wonderful brownie and a buttered roll."

Pino has been a fixture on the Hoboken restaurant scene for the past two decades, watching the town evolve into a dynamic and desirable high-end real estate market. But those who have been here for long enough know that Hoboken was a community before it was a hotspot. Even as his restaurant sits quiet on the corner of 10th & Bloomfield, he and his staff are still working hard in the kitchen to give back to that community in any way they can.

"During this period and with everything going on, there are members of our community that still need our assistance," said Pino. "I want to ensure that no one is forgotten—Vets, Hoboken Shelter, elderly or anyone who needs help. I’ll do whatever I can."

To that end, he has launched a GoFundMe initiative called “Chef Pino’s Feed it Forward."

"With the help of our Hoboken neighbors, they have shown the love and donated nearly $5,ooo this month."

That money goes toward the logistical costs of supplying a variety of local organizations with a phenomenal meal.

"Next, I’m working on scheduling dinner for an elderly group for next week," said Pino.
