HOBOKEN, NJ - An off-duty Hoboken Police Officer arrested a 55-year-old man who knocked a woman to the ground while running from the scene of an alleged burglary on Saturday.

Around 6:45 p.m. on April 3, Hoboken Detective Sergeant Dennis Figueroa was off-duty in the area of 6th and Willow Avenue when he observed a female screaming for help while chasing a male down the street. Dsgt. Figueroa he identified himself as a police officer and ordered the male to stop.

Tony Watson, 55, of Hoboken, complied with the command and stopped running, meanwhile additional police personnel arrived on-scene. Watson was subsequently arrested for Burglary (entering a building), Burglary Tools (using a tool to enter a building). He was also charged with Simple Assault, as Watson allegedly pushed the woman to the ground after she saw him in the building.
